MyID.ca takes the security of its canadian domain auctions very seriously and has implemented numerous measures to prevent fraud and increase auction legitimacy and security for both buyers and sellers.
- Mandatory Authentication
- All participants must have valid contact info in their MyID.ca account.
- All participants in any MyID.ca Dot CA Auction must submit a valid government issued photo ID and a valid credit card in their name
- No stolen domains
- Sellers can only submit domains for which they are the registrant or their authorized representative.
- Whois history of every domain submitted is reviewed and any domain that had recent changes will undergo further investigation.
- If bid is received above reserve, seller must transfer the domain
- The domain owner credit card on file will be charged a penalty of $500
- Seller will be banned from future auctions and from MyID.ca website.
- The incident will be published here on MyID.ca auction blog.
- If a buyer wins an auction, they must pay
- The buyer credit card will be charged a penalty of $250
- Buyer will be banned from future auctions and MyID.ca website and info regarding the breach will be publicized on this blog.
- No payment reversal after domain transfer
- We only accept guaranteed funds for payment : Direct deposit, web banking, Interac, Wires, and Hyperwallet.
- We WILL UNEQUIVOCALLY report any suspicion of fraud and/or illegitimate activity to law enforcement authorities.
