The firt MyID.ca DOT CA auction has started and will on May 30.

This is a first of what we hope will be a regular event dedicated exclusively to .ca domains. The auction has been well tested and is quite comprehensive in features, ease of use and security.

More than 1250 domains were submitted and among these around 80 .ca domains are currently being auctioned spanning 10 categories and a wide range of reserves from less than $100 to more than $5000. The  domain list should appeal to a wide range of interests and budgets.

MyID.ca is also offering unheard of incentives for all auction participants. There is serious opportunity for major savings through the automatic earning of AT-COST credits. Each of these credits can be used to renew, transfer, or register a .ca domain at our cost (i.e. what we pay CIRA) of $8.5 plus GST. More details here .

To participate in the auction and bid on any of the domains, one must complete the authentication process and agree to the auction terms and agreement. More info here . Note that the deadline to complete this process is 11 pm EDT on May 28, 2008.
